The Format
100 Hours. 32-Channel EEG. Total isolation.
Competition Stages
The Meditation World Cup is not a test of who can sit the longest. It is a precise, clinically measured trial of autonomic nervous system control under extreme duress.
Stage 1: The Descent (Hours 0-24)
Competitors enter their isolation pods. The primary metric is the speed of transition from waking Beta state to sustained Alpha/Theta. Points are awarded for rapid heart rate deceleration and respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) amplitude.
Stage 2: The Void (Hours 24-72)
Environmental stressors are introduced. Ambient temperature drops to 15°C, then spikes to 28°C. Mild, unpredictable auditory disruptions (white noise bursts) occur. Competitors must maintain stable neuro-cardiac metrics despite external stimuli.
Stage 3: The Endurance (Hours 72-100)
Sleep deprivation peaks. The challenge shifts from achieving deep states to preventing cognitive fragmentation. Micro-sleeps (Delta waves accompanied by muscle atonia) are permitted only during the strict 15-minute recovery windows every 6 hours.
Scoring Metrics
Competitors start with 10,000 points. Penalties are deducted based on real-time biometric data.
| Infraction | Detection Method | Penalty |
|---|---|---|
| Beta Spike (>12Hz) | Continuous EEG | -50 pts / minute |
| Heart Rate Elevation | ECG (Resting + 15 BPM) | -20 pts / minute |
| Physical Fidgeting | Accelerometers / Video | -10 pts / instance |
| Unauthorized Sleep | EEG Delta + EMG Drop | -500 pts / instance |
